1. Report suspicious activity early. If something feels unsafe, report it promptly to local police or emergency services so intervention can happen sooner.
About This Project
Alertify helps people quickly share local risks, improve awareness, and support faster community response. It combines crowd-sourced reporting with a live map so residents can make informed safety decisions.
UniHack 2026 pitch: This Australia-built platform aligns with the EU Shared Future Prize for Australia-based applicants by strengthening community resilience through trusted vigilance. By enabling early reporting, better situational awareness, and coordinated local action, it contributes to a more secure and safe shared future.
Safety Tips For Everyday Resilience
These quick tips are adapted from Victorian Police (VicPol) and the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
2. Stay aware in public spaces. Keep valuables secure, stay alert to your surroundings, and avoid distractions when moving through crowded or unfamiliar areas.
3. Lock and secure homes and vehicles. Use basic physical security habits such as locking doors/windows, removing visible valuables, and improving lighting where possible.
4. Protect your digital accounts. Turn on multi-factor authentication, use strong unique passwords, and keep devices/apps updated to reduce cyber risk.
5. Pause before clicking or sharing. Treat urgent messages, links, and requests for money or personal data as potential scams until verified through trusted channels.
